DOCTRINE TRINITY : WHAT IS A ERROR OF FAITH ?

doctrine of trinity
he doctrine of Trinity is a doctrine of faith that is always taught in Christian teaching. In essence, this doctrine offers salvation to human children so they can enter heaven.

However, on the other hand, the doctrine of Trinity has sparked controversy among adherents outside of Christianity, who consider its teachings to be unreasonable.

Is it true that the doctrine of Trinity makes no sense at all ?

This article will effort to reveal the historical truth that the beginning of the doctrine of the trinity emerged based on historical references.

The history of doctrine trinity emerged

The debate about the doctrine of trinity never ends, it has been going on since the beginning of the 2nd century AD until the present day. The term trinity first appeared in 213 AD and was introduced by a church father named Tertullian in Africa through his writing entitled Against Praxeas.

Who exactly was this Tertullian ? Why did the idea of the doctrine of the Trinity cross his mind?

Church father Tertullian was an apologetic figure from a city called Carthage located in Africa. His full name was Quintus Septimus Florens Tertullianus, thought to have been born in 160 AD to a non-Christian family

Tertullianus was very proficient and mastered Greek and Latin because he had worked for a long time in the city of Rome. At that time, many adherents of Christian teachings who had a Greek genealogical background liked to debate regarding the divinity of Christ and his relationship with God the Father.

Council of Nicea 325 AD, historical traces of Jesus became God

There was a thought at that time that was driven by Irenaeus, he looked at the figure of Jesus from a human or physical perspective, namely the word became human.

Tertullian himself had a slightly different view of the divine side of Jesus Christ. Due to these two different interpretations, Tertullianus tried hard to find a middle way to unite these two opinions in a new belief, namely una substantia tres personae or interpreted as one substance, three personal essences.

So actually the doctrine of trinity emerged as a response to two different interpretations in the 2nd century AD. As a result, this brilliant idea was accepted and proven that the doctrine of the Trinity was used by Christians.

100 years later, to be precise in 325 AD at a forum at the Council of Nicea, the doctrine of the trinity was established as the official doctrine of the church by the Roman king who ruled at Constantine through a Thessalonian edict.

Understanding the Doctrine of Trinity

Literally, in the Big Indonesian Dictionary, the meaning of doctrine is defined as teachings about the principles of a political or religious sect. Doctrine also means the establishment of a group of scientific, religious and constitutional experts.

Departing from this meaning, the doctrine of the trinity can be equated with the meaning in the large Indonesian dictionary, as a teaching or position of religious experts.

Then the meaning of the trinity, if you use the Bible as a reference, actually there is no explicit statement in all the existing verses. However, the signal for the existence of the doctrine of the trinity or trinity is interpreted from several verses in the Bible.
  1. Gospel of Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
  2. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, who cries out: “Abba, Father!” (Galatians. 4:6)
The main point of the doctrine of the trinity is that Jesus is considered as God, the creator of heaven and earth and their contents, who came down to earth as a human in 3 different persons, namely father, son and spirit.

The mystery of the existence of the creator of the universe is tried to be narrated by his unity in three persons at once. The doctrine of the trinity is clearly a human interpretation, if we follow the historical path of the birth of the term trinity.

The central figure, Paul, was the one who first discussed the position of Jesus as god in the city of Rome, then confirmed that the Roman king was in power at that time by participating in becoming a follower of Christ's teachings in order to maintain the security of his kingdom.

It turns out that Tertullian, who at that time was working in the city of Rome, also believed in Paul's teachings, and even strengthened them by offering the concept of the trinity.

That's why, when you look for the term trinity or trinity in the Bible, you will never find hair loss. However, Tertullian himself interpreted it through Paul's letters to his congregation in several cities he visited.

For example, congregations in the cities of Rome, Galatia, Ephesus, Philippi, Corinth.

What is the story that Paul was able to teach a teaching that he claimed came from the teachings of Jesus?

I have covered this subject in my other articles Even if there are doubts about Paul's teachings, the only argument Christians have to make is usually that they are Paul's teachings

it emerged because it was inspired by the holy spirit. Is it really like that? Read back to history, how the situation at that time, the culture and traditions of paganism developed so rapidly in the Roman Empire.

This is the source of Paul's idea to include it in his teachings and hide under the label of being a loyal follower of Jesus Christ. So, are Paul's letters in the New Testament worthy of being considered the word of God?

In fact, in the Codex Sinaticus document that was found, there is not a single verse that talks about the doctrine of the Trinity or that Jesus is God. If it is said that a single doctrine is a heresy of faith, it cannot be rejected or denied, it could be said that it is a faith that does not make sense and turns out to be just a tertullian interpretation.

Let's use the common sense that God has given us, carefully examine the history of the 1st to 4th centuries AD because the key is there.
