AdSense CPC is a term unfamiliar to most people, even those who frequently browse the internet.

AdSense CPC is a term unfamiliar to most people, even those who frequently browse the internet. It's only known to a handful of people who have an AdSense account and are connected to their website.

The AdSense program itself is a program offered by Google for anyone looking to earn additional income from their website. However, passing Google's selection process to participate in this AdSense program isn't easy.

There are many requirements a website must meet to be monetized by Google, such as:
  1. Have a clear navigation structure
  2. The content must be original, not copied from other sources
  3. Contribute to readers
  4. The content must be of value to readers
  5. The number of articles must be at least 30
  6. The content must not discuss violence or pornography
  7. The page must contain an "about us" page, a privacy policy, and a contact page.
In this post, I won't discuss AdSense requirements but will focus on how to get a high AdSense CPC from the AdSense program. I've covered Google AdSense extensively in my previous articles. So, I assume those of you reading this already have an AdSense account.

AdSense CPC Income Solution

The presence of articles on a website is a source of income in the AdSense program because that's where the money flows. However, whether that income flows quickly or not is a factor that influences many other factors.

AdSense CPC largely determines the number of clicks on ads displayed on a website. Even if the website has a lot of traffic, but the CPC is low or even non-existent, the income will be small.

By increasing the AdSense CPC, each ad click will skyrocket without the hassle of increasing website traffic. Here are some surefire tips for increasing your CPC:

1. Choose a valuable niche

Not all article niches have the same CPC; only niches related to finance, law, business, and technology have high AdSense CPCs. Niches in the categories I mentioned earlier will attract advertisers, causing them to bid high for converting keywords. 2. Focus on writing commercially relevant keywords

This means that the content of the article we discuss must intersect with the commercial value of a particular product, for example, the best car insurance or unsecured loans. These keywords will impact the AdSense CPC value because advertisers for that product tend to bid higher.

3. Create Pillar Articles

A pillar article is a structured, multi-volume article that we publish at different times, but the articles' content reinforces each other. This means that all the articles collectively provide in-depth information on the keywords we choose. Google really likes this type of article, as it is considered informative and can be useful for readers.

4. Have a Content Structure

Use H1/H2/H3 headings in writing an article (see this example article for the bold subtopics). Within this content structure, ensure there are commercially valuable subtopics in H2/H3 so that search engines and advertisers understand the context of the article. This has the potential to increase the AdSense CPC value and increase revenue. 5. Optimize meta titles and meta descriptions

This fifth point should contain commercial keywords relevant to the content of the article we wrote previously because it will increase organic CTR. Our website visitors will glance at the displayed ads and try to find out what they're about.

6. Create articles that generate leads and conversions

Product reviews, comparisons, and buying guides tend to attract advertisers and typically have high bids. Pages that provide guidance to readers towards a purchasing decision will tend to increase AdSense CPC.

7. Add data, case studies, and social facts

Content supported by relevant data indirectly has high credibility. These types of pages are often chosen by advertisers operating in the financial or B2B sectors.

8. Target locations with high CPCs

Countries like the United States, Australia, or European countries tend to have higher click-through rates. If your target audience is global, create an English-language version or optimize the page for readers living in those countries to increase your AdSense CPC.

9. Improve user intent and experience

Ensure your page answers visitors' questions completely and quickly. Relevant clicks and a good page duration will make the ad network assess your page as high-quality, which will help increase your AdSense CPC.

10. Strategic ad placement

While the presence of articles is important, it must also be in line with ad placement. Place ad units in high-engagement areas (e.g., after the first paragraph of an article, between subtopics, or in the sticky area on the mobile version). If the ad is placed correctly, the CTR will increase, which will also increase the AdSense CPC.

11. Use effective ad formats

Responsive, native, and display ad units that match the context of the article can increase ad relevance. Combine these formats to make high-value ads appear more frequently and boost AdSense CPC.

12. Audit and update old content

Conduct regular audits and add commercial subtopics or product comparisons to old articles. Refresh content to target valuable keywords to increase AdSense CPC from your existing content assets.

13. Build topical authority

Create focused content clusters (pillar articles + sub-articles) so your site is seen as authoritative on a single topic. These sites more often display premium ads, which contribute to an increase in AdSense CPC.

14. Optimize page speed

Sites that load quickly and are mobile-friendly tend to keep visitors lingering. Advertisers love these types of sites. Therefore, they will offer higher AdSense CPC rates.

15. Use schema markup

Schema markup is fundamentally helpful for search engines in displaying rich snippets that will attract organic traffic. This traffic will then support a higher AdSense CPC.

16. Conduct A/B testing

Test variations in titles, structure, and calls to action to see which ones generate commercial traffic. Quality traffic is more likely to generate high-value clicks and automatically increase AdSense CPC.

17. Take advantage of seasonality and trends

Some keywords experience spikes in value during certain seasons (e.g., insurance topics during open enrollment, travel during the holidays). Publish articles on a schedule to capitalize on seasonal AdSense CPC opportunities.

Pay close attention to the ads that appear in the SERP for target keywords. If there are many paid ads in the search results, those keywords likely have a high AdSense CPC.

Practical steps to implement AdSense CPC

  1. Choose 3 high-value niches and create a list of 30 commercial-intent keywords
  2. Write 2 pillar articles 1,500 – 3,000 words per niche.
  3. Optimize the meta title and meta description for each article.
  4. Audit 20 old articles by adding commercial subtopics.
  5. Improve page loading speed and mobile-friendliness.
  6. Monitor AdSense metrics (RPM, CTR, CPC) regularly.

Conclusion

Increasing AdSense CPC is more than just placing ads. It also involves choosing a niche and writing quality commercial articles.

Furthermore, user experience and proper ad positioning also contribute to CPC. With a solid strategy, we will feel the impact of increased AdSense CPC in the next few months.
